Nevada Security Deposit, Rent Increase & Habitability Assessment

Reviews deposit accounting, rent notices, repairs, habitability, retaliation, records, local rules, and possible remedies.

Who this is for: residential tenants evaluating deposit, rent, or repair concerns.

Nevada law note (August 12, 2026): Nevada generally caps the combined security deposit, surety bond, and last month’s rent at three months’ periodic rent, requires an itemized accounting and refund within 30 days after termination, and requires 60 days’ notice of a rent increase (30 days for a periodic tenancy shorter than one month). Eviction notice and cure periods depend on the asserted ground.
